Brandywine Battlefield Park
The Brandywine Battlefield Park brings to life the largest engagement of the Revolutionary War, fought on September 11, 1777, between the Continental Army led by General George Washington and the British forces headed by General William Howe. The park has a Visitor Center with a museum and a gift shop. On the grounds of the park are both Washington's headquarters and Lafayette's quarters. Bring a picnic and enjoy the grounds as you talk about one chapter in the book we call America. Located in nearby Chadds Ford, just 1-½ miles away. Brandywine River Museum
Exhibiting American art in a 19th-century gristmill, the Brandywine River Museum is internationally known for its unparalleled collection of works by three generations of Wyeth’s and its fine collection of American illustration, still life and landscape painting. Chaddsford Winery
Open seven days a week for visitors to tour the winemaking and barrel aging cellars, taste the current vintage, browse our gift shop, or picnic on the outdoor deck and grounds. Visiting hours are noon to 6 p.m. daily, except closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Winter Hours: closed Mondays, January 1 - March 31. Longwood Gardens
The world’s premier horticultural display garden.  Longwood Gardens was created by industrialist Pierre S. The Franklin Mint Museum
The Museum houses a spectacular permanent exhibition of 20th Century cultural icons, including the white sequin Princess Diana gown and Jackie Kennedy's original triple strand faux pearl necklace. The Museum also has exciting, changing exhibitions of famous artists and objects, as well as acclaimed works by artists affiliated with The Franklin Mint. Located 1-½ miles from the Best Western.
