Pennsylvania Best Western Hotels: Pottstown

Pennsylvania Vacations, Travel and Hotels

As early as 1714 an iron forge was established north of the present site of Pottstown, and iron making quickly became the area's principal industry. When Colonial ironmaster John Potts founded the city in 1752, he named it Pottsgrove. In 1815 it was incorporated as Pottstown. The city remains a busy industrial and trade center.
